All things Empress of the Seas

Recommended Posts

I thouhgt I'd start this thread for all the experienced Cruisers. This is my first time on RCI and Empress of the Seas. I know it's her last year here in the states. I would love to hear your memories, fond and not so fond, about this vessel before she moves away from the USA.

We sailed on the Empress to Southern Caribbean back in February. Only our 2nd cruise (Disney was the first). We loved everything about her and it's sad she's going elsewhere. Never been on a HUGE ship, so can't really compare. She will always have a special place in my heart.:)

Last year on our cruise out of Philly we had 2 sick people helicoptered out by the Coast Guard, and that made for some excitement as the top deck had to be closed down for several hours. The USCG lowered a guy down from the chopper and brought the people up in a basket. It was right out of a movie!
