Deno1 Posted August 14, 2007 #4 Share Posted August 14, 2007 We went to the port at 11:15 am and we on the ship at 11:40 AM. It was great! I would go early - it seems that the check in gets much more congested early afternoon. Our experience is that it was easier than checking in at Miami. Hope you have a great vacation1

Hope you have a great vacation1 DH just reminded me that we made a 15 minute detour into the liquor store once we had checked in, so all in all, our loading/cab ride/unloading/waiting in line to drop off bags/waiting in line to check in/check in/photo all took just about an hour. ILoveScotland Posted August 14, 2007 #7 Share Posted August 14, 2007 I'm glad to read all of this, too, as we will be on the Serenade out of San Juan in late January. We're staying 4 nights pre-cruise.
gnparend Posted August 14, 2007 #8 Share Posted August 14, 2007 We are staying the night before in Feb and plan on heading to the port at 11 AM to get sea pass and check luggage then walk up to Old San Juan. You can probably board by 11:30 but rooms are not available until 1 or 2 PM so put tags on the Carry On. Once you have the sea pass you can justy walk on board and get a second "photo op". Our last trips to SJ for cruises it seemed most flights from the states start arriving around 11 ish so mid afternoon the port will get heavy. Reason for late departure is flights into SJ are mostly mid day to early evening.
