gettingmarried Posted August 17, 2007 #1 Share Posted August 17, 2007 Posted this question previously but now that the excursions are open for the Nov 4th sailing, are there any recommendations of what to do in St Maarten? Is it better to book with Princess or privately? Thanks!:)
Don M Posted August 17, 2007 #2 Share Posted August 17, 2007 We rented a vehicle right at the dock and drove ourselves around. We visited the airport (acutally the bar just off the approach for the runway) and also had lunch on the French side. Two entirely different cultures by the way. Enjoy. Rare Kellie in Texas Posted August 17, 2007 #4 Share Posted August 17, 2007 In Oct. 2005, we did the Golden Eagle catamaran excursion. It was a blast. You can get wet or not, but it was a fun sail. It was a morning excursion (about 3 hours total, if I recall), so we had time when we got back to have some lunch and then do some shopping. cadburysmom Posted August 17, 2007 #5 Share Posted August 17, 2007 We highly recommend the Golden Eagle excursion too but this past year did the America's Cup Challenge and liked it even better. Totally different excursion but definitely worth doing once. :)

Floflegs Posted August 17, 2007 #10 Share Posted August 17, 2007 Plenty of taxis on the pier who will give you a tour of both sides of the island
Rare 5:00_Somewhere Posted August 17, 2007 #11 Share Posted August 17, 2007 I second the America Cup Challenge. Had a great time in March 06. I third, forth, fifth and sixth this suggestion. It was, hands down, the best shore excursion I've ever done! :D
