jennie99352 Posted May 19, 2004 #1 Share Posted May 19, 2004 Everyone cruising out of Seattle in that time frame may be interested in this site detailing Seafair activities. http://www.seafair.com/ Seafair is the hydroplane races in Seattle, but also hosts the Blue Angels, Navy fleet arrival, marathons, etc. Seattle gets very crowded this time of year, so you might want to look to make sure your plans won't be thrown off, or else you might want to join in on some of the events. c-cruise Posted May 19, 2004 #2 Share Posted May 19, 2004 The hydroplane race is on Aug. 8th. Second Sunday in August this year rather than the usual first Sunday in August date. So if you are here a few days before your Aug 7th, 8th or 9th cruise you could catch some of the qualifying for the race as well as one of the Blue Angels performances. The Blue Angels perform over Lk. Washington and the higher elevation parts of the show should be visable from either cruise ship terminal. The Seafair Torchlight run and Torchlight Parade are the afternoon/evening of Sat. July 31st. The parade route is down 4th ave. downtown. vacationhappy Posted May 19, 2004 #3 Share Posted May 19, 2004 We were there last year and saw the Blue Angels from the Space Needle - it was awesome - not to be missed.
