Marina Inn & Suites San Diego

Can anyone tell me anything about this Hotel? Location, how far to port, condition, etc?

Here is the URL for this hotel - I am not sure of the exact locartion - but I will be down there this afternoon (taking a relative to the Train Station) and I will report back later today.

I drove by there - it is an old "Travelodge" that has been renovation. It is a smaller two story hotel - looked pretty nice. It is about 1/2 between the airport and the cruise termional. The airport is about 1.75 miles from the cruise terminal.

 

There is a pretty good resturant (China Camp At Fat City) and a Denny's about 1 block away.

I'd be aware of the reviews on tripadvisor...it would cause me concern...

La Pensione in Little Italy. The rooms only have one queen size bed - but are very nice and are reasonable (several of my friends have stayed there). It does NOT have a shuttle but from the airport, a cab ride would only be ABOUT $10 and less than that from the hotel to the cruise ship terminal. It is only about a block or two from our public transportation. There are many restaurants nearby.

We've stayed there. It's a motel. Nicely located, and if you think of it as a motel, not bad. But if you are looking for a nice hotel, you may be in for a disappointment.

I take it you are talking about Marina Inn & Suites?

 

If so, your description seems pretty accurate - nothing fancy but definitely cheap. According to their website they offer a $59.95 special rate.

 

I have never stayed there, nor do I know anyone that has stayed there.

Hi Tom. That's right. We have stayed at Marina Inn & Suites, and found it to be a standard motel place.
