Freedom 8/19 Sailing - New Itinerary?

Well I'm hoping someone onboard will be providing updates soon and give us all the heads up... considering I just watched the Freedom leave the Port of Miami... and head north! Definitely not her usual course... so I'm wondering if they've told everyone onboard what the new itinerary is and if anyone is willing to share. Seems the RCCL website won't be updated until tomorrow and it still says they'd be sailing their normal route.

 

**Ok, just took a quick look off the balcony and it seems she's heading nearly due east now... so my guess is the Bahamas to start perhaps?

I was wondering how they could sail the same itinerary when I keep seeing pictures of Hurricane Dean heading for Jamaica. We're leaving 8/25 on Liberty and supposed to stop at Grand Cayman, Labbadee, Montego Bay and Cozumel and wondering what will happen. Are you able to stop at those places 1 week after a hurricane?

I would think not especially if the damage is as bad as predicted.

FOS's itinerary has them heading to Labadee first so RCCL can make a judgement tomorrow which is what has been published. RCCL has had lots of Eastern itineraries whose first port was Labadee.

Do you have ant relatives in Western NY? Puszcz is my mother's maiden name! It's not exactly common so I thought there might be a connection.

Just read the hurricane update on the first page of CC.. Says RCCL will announce tomorrow at (monday) at 1pm if there are any changes in itinerary. Our prayers are with all of those in Dean's path...

but my cousin is sailing tomorrow - she was scheduled to go to key west and cozumel - she was told they are going to nassau instead of cozumel. (I forget what ship she is going to be on)

Just did a search on my posts and saw your response. I'll check with my DH - I believe he does have some relatives there. It's not a common name and if someone has it they are usually related. Will get back to you. Thanks for responding.
