Swimmergirl33 Posted August 20, 2007 #1 Share Posted August 20, 2007 I have been on 3 cruises..all of which Carnival. Our latest cruise, we felt that many people were tacky and that Carnival may not be right for us. We decided to look into Royal Caribbean. Any past Carnival Cruisers that can compare the two? Are the shows and things to do fun - like carnival? Are their many teenagers on board? Anything will be helpful Thanks!

cb at sea Posted August 20, 2007 #4 Share Posted August 20, 2007 RCI and Carnival are very similar. I've always felt RCI to be a bit more, hmmm, "upscale", but in reality, I think you'll find them quite alike. You can pretty much do what you want on a cruise--you don't HAVE to go the all-out party route, if you don't want to! You will find lots of kids of all ages on RCI--they have a great kids program,so you really won't be bothered by the children. The only time you may notice them is at the pool. (You can utilize the Solarium, if you wish to avoid the kids!) The shows are ok--I generally love the comedians--I've never been a fan of "production shows",tho! If you're booking a Voyager class ship, the ice show is pretty impressive! On board entertainment varies, just like anywhere else, but you'll find something to your taste. Give it a try!
