Carnival slumber parties

I am travelling with my 5 year old son and would like to if possible utilize the babysitting services, I am a little leary though of how tired he may be the next morning. Can anybody that has used this service advise if the kids actually do sleep?

I would obviously rather have a good time with him in port as opposed to a good time by myself in the evening, however if both are attainable even better:)

Honestly, no they don't sleep. I noticed that one ONE night there was ONE little girl asleep. They have a late night dance party during the slumber party, there is little sleeping involved.

So what I do. We do early seating dinner. Drop the kids off at camp by 7pm. Have 3 hours to ourselves to go to a show, casino, dancing, bar, whatever....then between 10pm and 11pm we pick up the kids and put them to bed. Then we head out to our balcony to enjoy some quiet time alone. :D

It's sort of a misconception that it is a BABYSITTING service. I know that's what they call it but it is actually a continuation of Camp Carnival activities. They DO put some blankets and pillows down and put a movie on. But that doesn't mean it is totally quiet in there.

The plan you have sounds great, I think I will give that a go on the days before sea days. Even 10 - 11 on a day before an excursion could help make for a very long next day

Yeah I noticed that too. I have 2 kids that are usually past out by 8pm every night. They were REALLY tired by 10pm. And then my 3 year old fell asleep at the beach which is totally out of character for her.

Michele, You provided me with some Carnival Triumph 6E cabin pics. Do you still have those available? Could you repost. I had a computer hard drive fried (lightening storm) and would really appreciate having them so share with my DD. Thanks!!!

My six year old has been on three cruises. Every time that we sent him to the "slumber party", he was alseep when we picked him up. I never saw any dance parties happening but maybe it depends on the ship and the age group. When we came they always had mats, pilows and blankets. The light were usually out and they had a movie playing. Sometimes the counselors were snuggled up with the kids and all was quiet! We loved it. In the morning our son would sleep late (he NEVER does this at home!)
