Portoferraio, Elba, Italy

Recommended Posts

We will be at Portoferraio, Elba, Italy in early November. We are looking to do it independently. Are there any treasures or must sees that you would like to share? How was the cable car up the mountain and what is up there besides a beautiful view?

Thank you,

Fran

In Portoferraio itself you can reach everything walking. Just be warned that you often have to handle steep inclines. The sights there include one of the home of Napoleon, the walls and fortress remains, the museum of archeology, churches and a theater.

Another palace of Napoleon can be reached by bus.
