pasc Posted August 27, 2007 #1 Share Posted August 27, 2007 I would like to know what would be the advantage to book the next cruise on the ship ? Thank you
The Big Booper Posted August 27, 2007 #2 Share Posted August 27, 2007 You get an onboard credit against your SeaPass account for the next trip. The longer the trip, the higher the credit. Varies from $50-$200. The reservation can be switched to another ship as long as the booking number stays the same.

astrogirl19 Posted August 27, 2007 #4 Share Posted August 27, 2007 So you don't get the OBC for the current cruise? Aww, i was hoping to use that OBC right away!
The Big Booper Posted August 27, 2007 #5 Share Posted August 27, 2007 So you don't get the OBC for the current cruise? Aww, i was hoping to use that OBC right away! Nope. But as long as you keep booking RCI or X, you always have a flow of credits, which is their goal, keep you with RCI rather than the competition.:)
Bruin Steve Posted August 27, 2007 #6 Share Posted August 27, 2007 On our recent RCCL Liberty of the Seas cruise, we booked TWO cruises for next year: A 7 night Vision of the Seas cruise for the Mexican Riviera next March and a 14 night Baltic on the Celebrity Constellation (That's right...You can book both RCCL and Celebrity on either line's ships and get the same deal)...We got a $100 onboard credit on the Vision and a $200 onboard credit on the Constellation...That's a $300 savings towards next year's cruising... And...we were able to have the bookings immediately assigned to our travel agent--who gave us ADDITIONAL onboard credits... Our Liberty of the Seas cruise had been booked while onboard the Monarch of the Seas over a year and a half earlier--before the sailings of that ship were even announced...we originally booked a "dummy" 11-night cruise on Mariner or Navigator, I think, and put down a $900 deposit...so a $200 onboard credit was attached to that reservation...Even though we switched the reservation (keeping the same res #) to a 7-night cruise, they still applied the $200 credit! PSCruiser Posted August 27, 2007 #7 Share Posted August 27, 2007 I think that Nextcruise is the best deal that RC has come up with in a while. The positives - you don't need to put down the full deposit, just $100. (Book it only in ONE name, no advantage to putting down $100 per person). Also, no need to come up with a decision on a future cruise. The only negative - no refund of the $100, however that doesn't matter as long as you ever cruise RC again. BTW, if you are on a ship and have a future RC cruise booked but without OBC, and the price has not increased, you can ask the LA to rebook it for you and get OBC. If the LA is clever, he/she can do that by redirecting your original deposit so it is not even a transaction on your CC.
