tacobird Posted August 29, 2007 #1 Share Posted August 29, 2007 We plan to arrive on Pride of Aloha around 11:30am, have lunch, check out ship and then thought we might do a tour in Oahu before the ship departs Sunday nite around 8:00pm. Do we have time? What attractions are nearby the port to see? Any within walking distance or the bus line? We want to see all we can.

yamaneko Posted August 30, 2007 #3 Share Posted August 30, 2007 please check out gloryb2god's post here: http://boards.cruisecritic.com/showthread.php?t=559081&highlight=cheat i spent 2 months in Oahu a few years ago and have to agree that list !! if time is a concern to you, try the places that are close to the port: Climb Diamond Head Pearl Harbor Memorial Tour -Arizona Memorial, Bowfin; Missouri; Walking around Waikiki and Chinatown Waikiki Beach Punchbowl Crater International Marketplace in Waikiki
eh2zed Posted August 30, 2007 #4 Share Posted August 30, 2007 The port is not located within walking distance of any attractions. I would take a taxi to Waikiki and walk the strip including International Marketplace, the beach, afew ABC stores and if time allows go up Diamond Head. Hawaiian Mongoose Posted August 30, 2007 #5 Share Posted August 30, 2007 ...is Aloha Tower Marketplace, the docent led 'Iolani Palace tour is a good walk and well worth it, across from the palace is the Kamehameha I statue, not too far from both of these is Kawaiaha'o Church and grounds. Suggest you get a tourist map of the area and get a better estimate of the distance before you set out. Enjoy! Aloha.
ell52 Posted August 30, 2007 #6 Share Posted August 30, 2007 I agree with FFMongoose. Iolani Palace is within walking distance and worth seeing. The Hawaii Maritime Center is right next to Aloha Tower Marketplace if you're interested in that sort of thing. Chinatown is also walking distance. Otherwise, you can take a shuttle or the bus into Waikiki for $2. Once in Waikiki: International Marketplace, the zoo, Kapiolani Park, aquarium the beach, shopping, restaurants, etc.
