Just booked Liberty of Seas lots of questions

Hi..just booked our family vacation for next year. 6/28-7/5

 

Cabins 7292/7294 and the 7320 handicapped cabin.

 

I need advise on the ship in general..what to pack (dress for dinner), the cabins etc.

 

Traveling with 3 kids 12, 16 and 18 and 5 adults.

 

Besides the cruise what things do we need to book now?

 

We are taking the Western Carribean cruise...Flying into Ft. Lauderdale.

 

Any advice on cab/van to Miami?

 

As much info as possible about the LOS. This is our first family cruise and for the kids and my DH the first cruise ever..

Welcome Aboard!! We leave on the LOS this Saturday and are SOOOOO excited!

 

First of all, hop on over to your sailing's Roll Call to introduce yourself. You will meet other people who are on your cruise and it's fun to get to know everyone before hand, especially when you get closer and are all excited to go. If you register for the Mix & Mingle for the sailing, you will receive an invitation to attend a party hosted by RCCL while on board. They usually have hors d'oeuvres and lemonade, and some give away little prizes. http://www.cruisecritic.com/community/meetandmingle.cfm

 

Aside from taht, I don't think you need to book anything yet.

 

If you stay at one of the downtown MIA hotels, you can take a cab to the pier for about $10 - they're all very close. We have a harbor view room at the Intercontinental. so we should be able to the ship from our hotel room the morning of. :D

 

Other than that, just search on Liberty on these boards, and read some of the other posts, and you will get more information on what cruising is like.

This is only our 2nd cruise, and it's me and my DH, but I could easily see how it would be the perfect vacation for families/friends travelling together. Plenty for everyone to do, but still plenty of opportunity to spend time together.

My family and I just got off (8/25) the LOS! Absolutely the best vacation we've ever had, honestly!! I am finishing up my trip report and it should be posted in a day or 2...

my DH and 2 kids aged 16 and 18 just got off on 8/25 and believe me you will all have the time of your lives....there is absolutely nothing to complain about.

There is nothing better than not having to cook or clean and although the food could use some improvement - you will find way more choices than in your fridge at home - enjoy every moment - there is so much to do and so little time to do it all! It is a beautiful ship and the cruise vacation is what you make of it. Hope you all have a wonderful time and boy do I wish I was there

right now.

Make sure you don't miss the ice show, the coffee and sandwich place and pizzeria in the promenade and the parades.

If you have any specific questions please feel free to ask. We were in cabins 7226 and 7228 (balcony).

Thanks..seems we have similar cabins..we are in 7292, 7294 and 7320. How were the cabins?

 

In the first two we have 3 people in each. 2 adults and a teen. The last one is for my mom and my sister.

 

Were the convienent to everything? Lots of noise or rocking and how is the view from the balcony?

 

Also any tips on what to do when we first board..any lessons learned?
