How Many Formal Nights on Longer Cruises?

My parents are going on the three B2B South American cruises on the Splendor in 2009, and the formal night threads got me to thinking about how many formal nights they should expect on these cruises. Is it 3 per cruise? I'm sure they'll skip some, but they'll want to be prepared with enough formal clothes to at least get through one cruise, then they can repeat the outfits on the next legs if they want to do formal night again.

2 is the max, regardless of length. So 6 formal nights for them.

How many formal nights are there?

For cruises with one formal night, the formal night is scheduled for the second or third evening of the cruise, with schedules permitting. For cruises with two formal nights, the first formal night is scheduled for the second or third evening of the cruise; the second formal night is scheduled for the second or third evening prior to the end of the cruise, with schedules permitting.

1-day cruise: no formal nights

2-day cruise: one formal night

3-day cruise: one formal night

4-day cruise: one formal night

5-day cruise: one formal night

6-day cruise: one formal night

7-day cruise: two formal nights

8-day cruise: two formal nights

9-day cruise: two formal nights

10-day cruise: two formal nights

11-day cruise: two formal nights

12-day cruise: two formal nights

13-day cruise: two formal nights

14-day cruise: two formal nights

16-day cruise: two formal nights

17-day cruise: two formal nights

They'll be relieved. They're not super casual people, but they also don't want to have to pack tons of formal wear for a 49 day cruise!!! 6 formal nights is quite manageable.

Click on my Roll call then the message board. Perhaps a Roll Call for your parents cruise is there, if not start one and then you can find other people that are going on that cruise.

I was very excited about that cruise, but I had already booked our cruise to Europe which I will never change. Maybe that could be the next one for us:D
