Connecting GS/OS?

Can anybody tell me about the connecting GS/OS configuration on the Vision class ships? We're on the GS side, on the Vision, and I was wondering if it will cut down on the furniture like it often does with the connecting JS. I'm still hoping to switch into another GS, but so far I haven't had any luck.
