I just booked our Alaska cruise, stateroom BA220, wondering how it is configured, is there windows or a balcony looking toward the back of the ship? the room is the very last one at the back of the ship, with about 30 ft to the railing, not sure what all is there. Any replies would be appreciated, thanks

I think you'll find this is a great cabin. However, one problem is potential noise from moving chairs on the navigation deck above you (especially when the crew washes them in the early morning). But, *with luck* your cabin may be close enough to the stern for this not to be a big problem.

Your cabin should be configured the same way as the other deluxe verandahs. Take a look at picture #8 of "ships pictures" here:

The big bonus is you have an extra long balcony. It will face out from the *side* of the ship. As for a "back" balcony....if you're just outside your cabin, facing your stateroom door, and turn left a few steps, you'll open a door and find yourself on a beautiful "secret" balcony. Very few others will likely discover it during your cruise - perfect for Alaska scenic cruising when the best view is not the side your cabin balcony is facing that moment.

If the idea of noisy chairs over your head bothers you, you need to find another cabin forward of the elevator bank - BA 198 or lower number. You will, however, lose that extra big balcony. A standard balcony has room for 2 adjustable chairs (not chaises) and a table.
