2_virgin_cruisers Posted September 9, 2007 #1 Share Posted September 9, 2007 Hi, we will be in Antigua in January on the Crown, and were thinking of doing a beach day. Does anyone have any suggestions on a good all inclusive resort that has some good beach activities? Thanks

Rare cruisegal40 Posted September 11, 2007 #7 Share Posted September 11, 2007 Hye Poo, how much are you paying and what amen? Thinking of this too? Do they provide trans? I think the taxis are pretty cheap on Ant. anyway. How far is the ride?
Poo Posted September 12, 2007 #8 Share Posted September 12, 2007 Cruise Gal 40, We received a flyer from Anthea, a reservations agent at Jolly Beach (reservations@jollybeachresort.com). We can have contintental breakfast, lunch, their beach, pool and non-motorized water sports for $60 per adult. We have access to their facility from 10:15 till 5 PM for that rate. A previous poster paid $6 per person for a cab from the pier and it took about 15 minutes. It looks great on the website and in the magazine. Rare cruisegal40 Posted September 13, 2007 #9 Share Posted September 13, 2007 Thank you. We have friends that stayed there in April I believe and they loved it. I think you can also go to Castaway Beach which is adjacent to Jolly Beach Resort, but obviously not use their facilities. That might be a good idea to do. Thanks again for the info. Poo Posted October 9, 2007 #10 Share Posted October 9, 2007 Cruise Gal 40 (and others who may have gone recently) We will be in Antigua in December, and I see that you will be there in November, a little less than a month now, right? Will you provide a report on both the cab ride and the experience if you do choose to do Jolly Beach Resort? Thanks,
Rare cruisegal40 Posted October 10, 2007 #11 Share Posted October 10, 2007 Yes, we will let you know what we decide. We have been to Runaway and I think the cabbie brought us to "his" favorite area. Way at the end of the beach. Not my scene. I want more action and people watch too.
