I had a time of my life. This is my second cruise with Carnival. I have to say I had a very nice time. I did not realize the ships are set up pretty much the same.

We stopped at San Juan, St. Thomas, Half Moon Cays and Grand Turk.

The only thing that upset me was not flea market shopping. So we were not able to shop for local things, this trip was more for the jewlery shoppers. URG! BUt oh well.

If you have any questions about these places. Email me and I will try to help you the best I can. grammer409@yahoo.com

First stop: Bahamas (Half Moon Cay) Great beach! The sand was like walking on flour and the water was so blue. This place was great! Now worries here! This place is just a resort for carnival (well holland owns it). Carnival brings over a big buffet so you dont have to go back to the ship.

Second stop: St. Thomas. We took an excursion here. Pretty cool place. We took a taxi to the city and then to our excursion. This place is busy! FYI.... If you are in with other boats. Do not be afraid to walk to the city. Might take you 15 minutes. We took a taxi back and it took 20 minutes with traffic. (And we were there with 3 ships). Our excursion we went to Coral World (way cool) and then a stop at Megans Bay. Both places really nice. Our driver made a stop at paradise point.

Third Stop: San Juan. NO BEACH HERE urg! But had a great time!!! I did a little research on this location and found a map. My family and I walked all of Old San Juan. When we got off the boat we ran into the Culture Tourism of San Juan, they let us to there home office were we picked up our own guided tour. This was a blast! Everything was 15 minute walk from each other. The forts were really neat to see and the people and shopping were wonderful.

Last Stop: Grand Turk! Beach Beach Beach. Carnival once again build this port for the cruise ships to stop. This beach can not be compared to the bahamas. This location was nice, but a bit rocky. Yeah you had a sandy beach, but a little rocky in the ocean floor.

I know this was pretty random. If you have any other questions, email me!

Talk you!

Thanks for the review - I am getting very exciting for my upcoming visit to the Triumph.

Would love to hear your comments on:

1) cruise director and cruise staff

2) when was the past guest party - did you go?

3) Entertainment - anything outstanding? Did you see all the shows?

4) Piano bar - who's there/any good?

...anything else you would like to add?

TIA

Thanks for the review - I am getting very exciting for my upcoming visit to the Triumph.

Would love to hear your comments on:

1) cruise director and cruise staff

The staff was great! The cruise director was funny! He was a cross between Robin Williams and Billy Murray. He definatly keep things going. The Shop Guide Kevin Taylor. Total butt hole. He was not a happy camper. Will not go to far into detail with him, be just made me mad.

Everyone else was great!

2) when was the past guest party - did you go?

I went with my mom, dad and husband.

I have been to

Montego Bay, Grand Cayman, Cozumel, Rotan Island Hondarus, Belize, Costa Maya, san juan, St. Thomas, grand turk, Bahamas

3) Entertainment - anything outstanding? Did you see all the shows?

All the shows were great! I love the comics they had on board. I hope you have the grandfather of comedy on board. The adult show was the best!

4) Piano bar - who's there/any good?

I did not go in the bars to much. But they seem to be bumping when I went by them. I hung out at the casino and all the shows.

...anything else you would like to add?

I like to say, just have fun. Read your capers and see what is there to do on the boat. There is tons to do.

If you have any questions, on what to do or what to expect at places, email me. I dont mind. I had a hard time finding information and I love to help!

I just had someone write to me and here is what was sent.

1) Is the ship in good condition? I have read some reviews that the ship

is badly in need of refurbishment. Is it impressive when you first see

it in the port of Miami? How big does it look compared to the other ships?

2) We are on a tight budget on our cruise. Is the day on the beach at Half

Moon cay expensive. All food in the barbque is free right?? So is the only

cost on this beach, drinks?

3) Are the cabins comfortable and spacious? We have a balcony cabin booked

on the Princess deck.

4) Our budget is approx $ 150 per day. Should $ 150 per day be enough between us or are

there lots of things that eat into your money while on board?

MY RESPONSE

I was surprised to see that the boat is a little out of date. I have been on Valor and it was great! Now the ship looks great on the outside. But when you are inside, you can see they could be doing a better job on up keep. You can see some stains in carpets and a few scratches on the wall. But that is about it. This boat is a little smaller than the valor. You can tell by walking the boat and what seems to be missing. For instands, one less buffet line, pool and places you can look off on the boat. Other than this, it was a nice boat. Dont be afraid of the reviews.

We are on a very tight budget ourselves!

Half Moon cay, NO need for an excursion. Everything is there. It is a resort for the cruise ships. You get onto a tendered and they drive you to the port. (due to the coral). You sail and sign card works for everything. The lunch is free. Carnival brings it over. You juice and teas are free too. If you want to rent snorkling gear, it is 16.00. (I suggested you go and buy a mask and mouth piece. You will need it at the other locations) As for booze, not sure of the price, heard it is same as on the boat, 5.00-8.00 a drink. Water is 2.75 a 16 oz bottle.

Been on Princess. Do you have a balcony on this trip? We booked an interior room and ended up with a room with 2 port holes. Very spacious!! Had plenty of cabinet space and a couch.

WAY PLENTY!! They have things for kids on the boat. You will like that. If you are big shoppers you have plenty of money. Food is included and teas and juices. I bet you will have penty of money left over. We are not big gamblers and we spend 10.00 (each) a day at the penny slots. Our total spendind including my shore excursion. 486.00.

This included, 71.28 tip per person, 2 cartons of smokes, t-shirt, 2 drinks every night, 2 boxes of chocolates, excursion for 2 (coral world and megans bay total 110.00). And a few misc. things from interenet cafe and things like that. Oh yeah, tips for out waitress and our house keeper.

Now off the ship we spend 100.00 in munchies, taxis, tips and entrance fees to certain things.

Hope this helps.

The only shore excursion we took was on St. Thomas. We took a taxi in the morning to do some shopipng (4.00 per person to city) and I heard they will take you to Megans Bay for 8.00 per person. So you dont even have to do an excursion here is you dont want too. Now you have to pay the same price to get back. Very very very busy island. We were in with 3 ships. And they said it was slow business.

Sorry. I did not keep the capers. But I can see if my mom kept hers. Do you have any questions on them? Maybe I can answer.

Would also love to see the Capers - maybe you can scan and post if possible.

Also thanks for your previous response - but do you remember when/where the past guest party was held?

Thanks,

Frouf

No specific questions, just want to see the daily activities so I can do some advance planning. Thanks.
