Fort Lauderdale Hotels that are both decent & affordable?

Is there a such thing, and which one should we pick? We are going in Feb for a pre-night cruise stay. Any suggestions?

February is prime time, what's known as the "high season". Read your fellow cruiser reviews of the hotels they've stayed in and choose the one that you can afford. Generally speaking, the hotels around the airport are less then those by the port. ;)

We like a secluded Motel 6 in Dania, Florida that is two miles from the Ft. Lauderdale Airport. It is near a state park on the beach and less than 30 minute walk to the beach. It is on a bus line and only $1 to the Airport.
