Belize zoo

We're doing a snorkel in the morning and then,if time, go to the zoo in the afternoon. My questions are these.....what is the price of a cab from the dock to the zoo? Safety concerns? Is time going to be a factor? My understanding is that the zoo is a gem. Thanks to all for your help.

Admission fee is Adults $8 US, children $4 (as of 2006). Fifty species of native wildlife, including jaguars, black howler monkeys, and tapirs. 8:30 AM to 5 PM except major holidays.
