Why Does Everyone Want To Rush

Maybe you are seeing my DH, the civil servant (cop), who knows nothing other than eating in a hurry. If the call comes, you have to be ready! :)

 

He doesn't have much patience either & i suppose all that time in the dining room means less time in the casino!

I keep reading how everyone is upset when it takes two hours to eat, I am on vacation, enjoying TALKING at the table, getting waited on and served one course at a time, I expect and even look forward to the fact that it takes time. Am I the only one who feels that way.

I myself like a leisurely dinner, but even I don't want to wait 20 to 30 minutes between salad and entre and then 30 minutes till I get deserts....Dennis

I couldn't agree with you more. I saw a commercial for Visa debit card and when people used cash, it slowed down the line. Why does everything have to be hit & run.

 

We got permission to take our favorite bartender on the Dawn to dinner at Le Bistro one night. We had 9:30pm reservations and didn't leave the retaurant until 12:00am. The Hotel Director & Concierge stopped by to chat. It was nice to be able to sit and talk and have a great meal with a friend and not be rushed to leave.

 

A vacation is a time to relax. I can be rushed at work all the time.

We thoroughly enjoy leisurely dinners on the ship.

 

When dining out on land, we often do not order our entrees until AFTER our appetizers are served, just to slow-up the meal.

 

We rush all day, all year. No rushing on a cruise.

I love the idea, I often get frustrated how fast they bring out the food ordering after would force the slow down. LOVE the tip. I could pretend then that I am on a ship sailing slowly accross the sea, love the idea even more!!! My DH eats way too fast, forcing him to slow down is the only way it works, if the food isn't there he can't eat it.

Some people have become accustomed to a fast paced lifestyle where they feel rushed all the time, even if there is no one rushing them or no where to rush off to. It is not easy for everyone to adjust and be able to relax. For people who have gotten used to not having to be on a schedule in everyday life, this likely takes little or no adjustment at all.

 

I know I have a hard time relaxing, but I am certainly going to try to relax on my upcoming cruise. Personally, it is not enjoyable for me spend 2+ hours in a restaurant. However, I imagine in you plop me in front of a window in one of these cruise ship restaurants, I'd be content for at least that time :)

 

As far as people lining up for express disembarkation: Perhaps they have a plane to catch? I plan to be one of the last people off the boat since we have any extra day in the port city.
