electricron Posted September 11, 2007 #1 Share Posted September 11, 2007 Read > http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/south_asia/6988763.stm After a year on an Alang beach, the ship breakers finally get permission to scrap the SS Norway. RIP SS Norway. :( It won't be long before we start seeing some really sad photos of the SS Norway, disappearing piece by piece. If the groups wishing to save her are real, they better pay the price the ship breakers want, there will be no fire sale forced upon the ship breakers by India's Supreme Court. pgh Posted September 11, 2007 #5 Share Posted September 11, 2007 I came to this thread thinking it was about the Norway.... Thanks for the update electricon. This is sad news for maritime history and for the human lives that are affected by the dank working conditions in Alang.
