UBinfwa Posted September 16, 2007 #1 Share Posted September 16, 2007 Just Off the ENCHANTMENT OF THE SEAS......... Enbarkment and Disbarkment was the best & most efficient of the 12 cruises I have been on. SERVICE was Great....... from Cabin to the dining room........... Food in the dining was just OK and not up to Holland America or Princess. I thought that the buffet in the Windjammer was better than the dining room for the most part. Strictest liquor checking that I have experienced! Very NICE ship with outstanding maintenance & upkeep............. Slots in the casino (as with most cruise ships) are very tight! Crap table on the last day cut our losses......... Entertainment was fair to very good (we had the Temptations want to be's) who were excellent and very nice individuals! Overall............ Very Good Value........ We took my 80 yr. old uncle & aunt on their first cruise and they LOVED it...... Stayed up later than us for a few of the days. Took the trolley tour in Key West and got a VG tour of the island for the amount of time we had there. Shopped in Cozemul for the most part.......... LIQUOR prices are better at the port terminal liquor than @ Los Cinco Soles & others......... CoCo Cay is a pretty neat stop but after being in the hot sun for three days, most people came back RED. Hope this helps
KPLIONMA Posted September 16, 2007 #2 Share Posted September 16, 2007 Thanks for the quick review...sounds great...leaving in 3 weeks for this ship and can't wait. After many Carnival cruises, it will be great going back to Royal Caribbean.
mommabean Posted September 16, 2007 #3 Share Posted September 16, 2007 You said "Strictest liquor checking that I have experienced!" Can you elaborate? Did you get something taken? What did you hear or see?
UBinfwa Posted September 16, 2007 Author #4 Share Posted September 16, 2007 I didn't take any Wine or anything on board (first time ever) after what I read on this board........ Luggage was x-ray'd and bottles in the suit case (water or mouthwash, etc) which looked questionable was held and you were called to open your luggage and the "bad" stuff taken away [told by an embarassed rule breaker]. Liquor purchased in port or on ship taken away & held till the last evening. Drink prices on board were on the high side but comparable to an up-scale bar. You will still be shocked when your final bill shows up. Lefty
jaxon41 Posted September 16, 2007 #5 Share Posted September 16, 2007 Are you still changing clocks out of Key West (forawrd an hour) and back out of Cozumel?

And do you happen to know how long he'll be on board assuming it's still Paul Rutter? Gina

The Cruise Director is Paul Rutter, we didn't ask how long he was going to be on board but he really is a nice guy. As far as the alcohol goes, we didn't notice any problems. Not us of course but I did hear tell of one cruiser that took a 12 pack of water, a 12 pack of diet cokes, a 12 pack of diet pepsi and a liter of bourbon and a liter of rum and had no problems. We really had a nice time on the Enchantment!

We really had a nice time on the Enchantment! OHHHH! Thanks for reminding me to take my water. I completely forgot that part of my routine. :D ;) Paul had said he'd be on board for August and September but I don't know it that means from beginning to end. I really enjoyed him on my first Enchantment cruise. He was getting off as I was getting on for my 2nd cruise on the ship. I have high hopes that he will still be on board on Thursday. I always say he does a great job of leading the show without being the show. He's the only CD I've seen actually run quest instead of an asst. He's quite friendly and approachable. Of course the real show for me is Julian! :D
