Free Samsonite Luggage, $75-$100 SBC - $25 SBC for late brochure - What's going on??

I havent heard anyone receiving their luggage onboard.

 

On my cruise personalizer under special services it gives me a date of delivery and that will be to my home while Im on the cruise.

 

 

Correct me if Im wrong, I havent seen one post stating the luggage was delivered to the stateroom. I think that could cause a problem for people who are flying because of luggage restrictions.

I'm being told by my TA that I'm getting the luggage and the OBC. TA also said the luggage will be in the cabin when we board. We'll see.

Interesting as I was on the Caribbean 3 night my own cabin and received the $25 ship board credit, then was on the following 4 night cruise with a freind and I received the $25 ship board credit again, but not my friend. I did not even ask why I got the credit. A free drink is a free drink no need to ask :)

 

I don't know what OBC $25? you are speaking about ???-

 

A $25 OBC would have nothing to do with the 'Goldmine' Promo/Luggage Promo ID #T0000068 on Capt. Circle Accounts, that was given for booking a cruise between Aug. & Nov. 2007 & is being discussed on this thread!

 

The Goldmne Promo being discussed was for $100 pp OBC for Balc. & up and $75pp for Inside & OV.

It was a random mailing and 'supposed' to have nothing to do with your 'status' on Princess, although it seemed that an unusual proportion of 1st time cruisers were solicited for these Promos. :rolleyes:

 

Princess Marketing was really messed up with these Promos.

Seems that everyone has a different experience and outcome.

 

In our case - those that originally got the 'Goldmine' Promo - got $100 pp. Those that originally got the Luggage Promo...got only (1) pc. per CABIN. Those that were allowed to switch from the Luggage Promo to the 'Goldmine' Promo got the OBC pp.

None in our group were allowed to get both Promos......

I understand others received different information and treatment :rolleyes:

 

I have posted my personal information about a dozen times in this thread and the other threads about these Promos.

 

I started this thread in Sept. 2007 - In the beginning - there was lots of comments abut a $25 OBC for late mailing of brochures - also a lot of postings about 'mystery' OBC - There was confusion and many did not understand what was in their accounts and were/are many that are confused and don't understand what is on their Capt.Circle accounts and how things are 'listed'.

 

It can be very confusing ..........There has to be an easier way!!!

 

I spent hours on the phone trying to understand these Promos and get them applied (I was booking a Family Group of 16 and went thru this with each Capt. Circle account! ) Princess kept changing the ID numbers posted.......and eventually even 'disappearing them.'.........I tried to print everything out for confirmation - it was a real hasssle for me to get what I could applied. WHEW!

 

We haven't sailed yet (Aug. 3) - no one has received anything, including luggage.... & although Luggage is listed in the Travel Summary under Special Services - there is no DATE listed for DELIVERY ??? Maybe because the date is so long away????

 

I can't figure all this out - but I have a word of caution - do not only rely on what your TA says - you have to see what is listed in your Capt. Circle Account, many TA's do not know what is going on with Princess Marketing and do not understand the Princess Promos.

I can't find it anywhere on the Cruise Personalizer, but every time I have had cause to call Princess they say I'm going to get it. Our next cruise is not until Feb. 09 (due to a wedding and then a new grandchild - a big $$$$$ wedding and $$$$ baby shower and a kitchen remodel).

 

We booked before the Nov 30, 2007 deadline. I see nowhere on my personalizer or on My Princess that says 'special services'. I've looked everywhere. They still say I'm going to get it . Is this possible or is it B.S.?

Just went into Capt. Circle - and there is a date for the Luggage delivery Aug. 3 - the day of our sailing !!! :rolleyes:

 

I have a feeling they just waited to receive Final Payment!!! ;)

 

I hope they are early with the delivery because no one will be home to accept the package.........it will sit on the front steps for a week???? :(

Go to Cruise Personalizer - then go to 'View My Travel Summary' then click on the left 'My Special Services' - it should be on there!

I appreciate your thoughtfulness about the additions to our family. I know you and your much bigger famiy will have a terrific cruise. You've gone to a lot of trouble to make it happen!

Either my booking is too far out or because I booked directly with Princess - I don't know, but it is not there. I'll check back. All I know is by phone Princess tells me we will get it.

Got my answer from calling Princess. They said it won't show up on my personalizer until 120 days prior to cruise. Now I don't feel so stupid! Maybe this will answer anyone else's questions about the luggage if they don't see it on the personalizer.

I received my luggage on Friday. Its a nice piece made by Samsonite.

 

Originally on my personalizer it said it would be delivered July 11. Well, I leave on July 10 for my cruise. My TA said that he called Princess alot in order for me to receive my luggage prior to my cruise.

 

Im grateful for anything that is on the house. This is very nice. If they would have offered OBC I would have gladly traded. Im grateful neverlethess.

Renee, I am planning a group cruise with some friends next year. None have ever sailed before. I set them all up on the Princess referral program. My brother had informed me that he got an email for free luggage from Princess for booking a cruise before November 30. I'm wondering if this is being sent to new cruisers only and not past passengers. Also, I'm going to start looking into booking this cruise. I wonder if my brother would still get the luggage if I booked the cruise? I'll have to check with everyone else and see if they have received any promotions from Princess.

 

If anyone else has any information on this, it would be greatly appreciated.

Karen, I've had the same wonder on the luggage and perhaps have figured it out. There were 5 in our group sailing on the Grand. 1 was a new Princess cruiser, others Gold and Platinum level. My mother (Gold level) got the free Sampsonite luggage. What we tend to think is - my mom paid her cruise with American Express. We all had TA's (3 the same), 4 of us had flights (I booked my flight independently) and we all had shore excursions too. But the form of payment is our only good clue to this mystery.

The last (3rd) pc. did arrive in Wynnewood (Philadelphia) Pa., yesterday - (My grandson who answered my phone call just forgot to look in the foyer and it wasn't found untl my DD got home from work! :rolleyes: (Typical!)

So - Whew! - that promtion is FINISHED and crossed off my list!

We are sailing on Aug. 3 - so the luggage arrived well in advance of the cruise! Goody!

For our group - Only the new cruisers got the luggage - and only SOME of them - they were able to switch to OBC instead.....

That being said - on this thread and others --many received the offer and they were Elite on Princess - so who knows?

I think the offer was completely random....I didn't get the offer and I have 4 cruises w/Princess!:eek:

You might have a point.

When I booked my cruise, I used my Visa. No promotion was mentioned about receiving free luggage if you booked within a certain time frame. Only OBC.

When it was time to pay the balance, I used my AE card. After checking my Personalizer, that's when I noticed I was receiving Free luggage. Surprise! Surprise!

There are now 6 other people that have booked the cruise along with me. None of them where chosen to receive the luggage.

 

The luggage promotion is over and it seems like people were chosen randomly, some first timers with Princess and others had several cruises with Princess under their belt. I do believe though, you had a chance to be picked if you booked during a time when they were giving the promotion. It was not publicly announced that if you booked you would receive luggage. It was a random surpirse during a promotion. It had nothing to do with how many cruises you took or what form of payment you made or how many people in your party. It was like hitting a lottery.

My Samsonite luggage was delivered today, actually pretty nice for a give away. I'm sailing 7/16/08 and the Princess web site said luggage would be delivered 7/16/08.

We received a beautiful (I believe about 28" upright) piece of Samsonite luggage last week. This was a total surprise as I didn't know it was coming. We booked in Oct., paid with our Visa & to my knowledge nobody else in our party of 12 has received it. I'm convinced this must be random and I'm grateful. Thank you Princess.

I have a question please. I booked an Alaska cruise in August 08, sailing 7/12/09. I have purchased casino credit for myself. When I look in my Circle Savings it has nothing posted. How soon, in your experience, does the credit post to your account? Thank you for your help!!
