Sorry to say, I haven't read this entire thread, it's taking me way too long, so I hope no one minds if this is a repeat of a previous question.

I'm hoping one of you previous Miracle cruisers will tell me if the Miracle has the Seaside Theater, that I've heard about on other ships ?

No. The Miracle does not have the seaside theater yet.

Hey Guys -

I sail out the end of Aug. They are slowing posting excursions for our trip and I was wondering if anyone who is sailing sooner could tell me if the Ultimate Snorkeling trip is one of the ones offered.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

Laura:)

Yes, Definitely St. Thomas because you can bring back 5 litres p/p.

Does one have to be made in St Thomas?

St martens for smokes-- but make sure they are class A smokes and not class b.

I think then you can bring back 6 litres if one is made in St. Thomas. Not totally sure. My husband and I brought back 12 litres. The prices were amazing. Less than half of what we pay here. After we came back I checked the prices in my local liquor store and most things were double the price.

Cigarettes are cheap in St. Thomas too. I don't know how much they cost in St. Maarten, but in St. Thomas last year they were 19.95 a carton. Maybe they have gone up by now.

What is the best port to get good deals on duty free liquor based upon the Miracles NYC itinerary?

A.H. Riise on Main St. is a great store for that. They are very reputable. Been in business for over 100 years. The service is very good and they will box all the bottles for you and then deliver them to the ship.

There is also a location at Havensight (right where the ship docks) but Main St. has a larger selection.

They also have great prices on perfume. I bought a 3.7 ml bottle of Dolce and Gabanna Light Blue for $68.00. When I checked the price at Lord and Taylor here in NY City, the price was $80.00 plus our 8.375% sales tax.

cigs are cheaper in the caribbean then home---anywhere you go. In St Marten then were 9 bucks=== go a few blocks away from the major shopping center stores==but again be careful cause some cartons are marked class B - these smoke faster and taste lighter so you smoke more and didnt save any real money.

New York is an awesome port to cruise from for Duty free shopping, Most people are driving here. Another word of caution--if you are flying you need to check your alcohol- with the fees airlines are now charging--how much can you really be saving?

Each person can also bring back 200 cigerettes

Ohhh yeah, if I was flying I never would have brought back 12 bottles, but since I live in NYC, we just took a cab so that is why I was able to buy so much. :D

were in 4237 wrap aft!!!

That's the same layout as 4228 except on the other side. You are going to absolutely love it. There are actually 3 rooms - a living room, bedroom and dressing room with a vanity and walk in closet.

We did a cabin crawl on our cruise and everyone loved our cabin the best, including people in Cat 12 Penthouse suites. It's a great location and great cabin.

Thanks Katst. Can you tell me if there are any perks to booking a suite? Other than the great cabin?

The only perk is VIP Embarkation. Your luggage tags should say VIP on them. Make sure you go to the VIP boarding area.

"No irons in the suites, bu there are irons in the self serve laundry rooms. We stayed in 4228 and had 1 right across the hall from us.

Yes there are blackjack tournaments in the casino. we had 2 on our cruise."

Kato92 - My family is staying in 4227 - across the hall - iin August. Do you have any pictures? Did you use the pull down bed and how did it work? Any hints for us?

Thanks!

If the delivery service is important to you, make sure you get there before the cutoff time. Not sure when that is, but last August we missed it and wound up carrying our own boxes.

On the up side, they did not "collect" the liquor and we had bonus booze in our cabin ;).

These days, I tend to just get a few bottles of really good stuff. The few dollars you save on the cheap stuff is not worth the hassle, IMO. Gonna be there in mere days and will be looking for some great bargains. :)
