Hairdryers On The Miracle?

We are sailing on the Miracle in January, can anyone tell me if there are hairdryers provided? If so are they any good? We will be on the Riviera Deck.

Won't bother to lug one all the way from England if there are!

Any other feedback or tips for this ship would be appreciated. Like are there any cabins to be avoided on the Riviera Deck?

Yes, there are hairdryers on the Miracle. I have read where they are adequate, but you will have to hold the switch in while using it. Also, it is stationary and cannot be moved elswhere. I will know for sure how good they are in 2 more weeks!!

Miracle has hairdryers in a drawer at the vanity. They are attached to the drawer by a short coiled cord and have a momentary switch that has to be held down to operate. They are fine as long as you are sitting at the vanity. Using your own hair dryer might be a problem. A few people have blown the circuit breaker using their own dryer at high heat.

The reason why the hairdryers are provided by the cruise ships is that landside hairdryers draw way too much power. It is so easy to forget that the ship is at sea and the power that runs the ship also runs the air conditioning, lights, casino, -- everything. They can't run an extension cord to a landside power plant. There is only one pair of electrical outlets for the same reason. Yes, if you have long hair, the dryers will be a pain to use. I only hope that not too many decide to bring their own plus power bars etc. That is how circuit breakers trip. It does happen - though it is rare.
