Taking your own luggage on board

Hey everyone, just a quick question since I am an RCCL virgin. On carnival you can take your own luggage on as long as its carry on size, can you do that on RCCL?

Shouldn't be a problem as long as it is truly carry-on size and you are indeed carrying it - rolling it along will alert security and they'll probably make you check it. I usually carry on a bag with a shoulder strap or use a backpack and haven't had any problems.

My carry on bag is on wheels and I have rolled it on board every cruise with RCI and other lines. It is the size that you can carry onto an airplane-not a big bag. We check the big roll along bag.

 

The bag rolled or carried on must be able to fit through their x-ray machine.

We always carry our own luggage on board except for the largest pieces. No one has ever made us open it up. As long as it can fit through the x-ray machine you can carry it on.

If you can take it on a plane as a carry on, you'll be able to take it on the ship. It has to fit in the x-ray machine which is the same type that are in the airport security areas.
