scubalisa Posted August 29, 2004 #1 Share Posted August 29, 2004 We have one day in Grand Cayman. We are considering either doing a couple of shore dives at Eden Rock's Devil's Grotto or going on a boat dive elsewhere. How does Devil's Grotto compare with the diving found offshore? What would YOU do if you only had one day to dive here? Thanks for all of your help!
bruce-r Posted August 30, 2004 #2 Share Posted August 30, 2004 Me, I'd go with a boat dive, unless your arrival time is so late that you couldn't make any of the morning dive boats. It is just easier and cleaner to dive from a boat. While those shore dives are convenient to Georgetown and therefore the tender docks, I don't believe that they are the best shore dives GCM has to offer. Personally, I'd much rather do a north wall dive over a dive site that has a constant stream of cruise ship divers visiting it. In March I went with and now recommend http://www.neptunesdivers.com/index.html. They are cruise diver friendly and usually schedule their trips for a little latter in the morning, making it much easier for the cruiser to get to on time. 8 divers max on their boat. You can follow the guide or do your own dive to the limits of your computer and air. Grand Cayman underwater photos
divinggirl Posted August 30, 2004 #3 Share Posted August 30, 2004 Just dove in GC on Wed 8/25 with Neptune's and let me say they are FANTASTIC!! Boat diving is really the only way to do the best wall dives, and the diving there is so great. Much better than in Coz, IMHO. Go with Neptune's and you will not be disappointed.
