QueensFan Posted October 3, 2007 #1 Share Posted October 3, 2007 Quick question/confirmation....want to go Friday to see QE2 off from NYC to "say hi"/get more excited for April. The NY Cruise Terminal page (http://www.nycruise.com/sched.html#) says she's in Manhattan. The WSS NY page (http://www.worldshipny.com/2007nycarrdep.html) says she's arriving in Brooklyn, but doesn't say anything for departure (which seems to be the code for "Manhattan"). Would QE2 come into Brooklyn, move to Manhattan during the day, and depart from there? Or is everything happening in Manhattan/Brooklyn?
stowaway2k Posted October 3, 2007 #2 Share Posted October 3, 2007 Chances are good that she'll be in Brooklyn, but you can check the bridgecam before you set out to be sure where she's docked. The view from the bridgecam will be obvious which terminal she's at. It's not at all likely that she'll move from Brooklyn to the westside, that would take hours when it's necessary for her to be docked.
Beyondships Posted October 3, 2007 #3 Share Posted October 3, 2007 The NYCruise electronic schedule does list QE2 as being in Manhattan. However, the PDF version of the schedule on the NYCruise site (i.e. the same site) lists QE2 in Brooklyn on October 5. Considering Cunard's commitment to the Brooklyn terminal and the difficulty of docking in Manhattan, it seems much more probable that the electronic schedule is a misprint. bob brown Posted October 3, 2007 #4 Share Posted October 3, 2007 If you come to see the QE2 on it's 13 Jan arrival, you can be sure it's going to be at Manhattan, as the QM2 will be at Brooklyn that day. The QV will also be at Manhattan that day.
bobby1119 Posted October 3, 2007 #5 Share Posted October 3, 2007 I will be going aboard for lunch and a visit as a guest of the hotel manager. The ship will dock in Brooklyn.
