Carnival Victory Dry Dock

Hello everyone...just got off Victory on Sunday. She is headed to Freeport for a 2 week dry dock. From what I understand they are installing a new kids dance club on deck 12 (Club O2) expansion to include a mocktails bar. They are also doing a general refresh on the interior public rooms with seating and carpets. They people we talked to could not confirm if the outdoor movie theater would be installed during this refitting. We can only assume it will be as the Victory will be repositioned to San Juan for yearly sailings replacing the Destiny on that route in November 2008. Destiny will return to Florida to replace Imagination on her route. Imagination will be sailing 2 and 3 day trips from then on.

We are already booked on the May 2008 sailing from Charleston and since finding out she will sent to San Juan in November of next year, we will more than likely go ahead and book for the October sailing out of Charleston as well. If she is being repositioned to sail yearly out of San Juan, it is unlikely we will have the chance to sail on her out of Charleston again....

We can only hope Carnival will deploy an equally impressive replacement for the Charleston market.

We're booked on our fourth Victory cruise out of NYC for next summer - likewise, probably our last since she's repositioning to San Juan. There was a post on another thread about a Conquest-class ship taking over this itinerary - I'd be interested to see if that rumor pans out!

I was in Charleston yesterday and could see a CCL ship over at the dockyard where repairs are made. Does anyone know which ship it is?

Most likely the Imagination since people have reported that the Victory is in Freeport
