number8 Posted October 4, 2007 #1 Share Posted October 4, 2007 We're going to be in Florence on All Saints Day, Nov. 1st and we have no excursions planned. With what I've read a lot of the shops in Livorno and Florence are going to be closed, will there be anything open, restaurants, bars, cafes?? Could be a long day in port if nothing is open. Been a while but I have been there on All Saints Day. Don't recall anything special except govt offices, museums and the like being closed. Most everything else should be open. number8 Posted October 6, 2007 Author #3 Share Posted October 6, 2007 Hopefully there will be some shops and cafes open. Thanks
Rare carlmm Posted October 6, 2007 #4 Share Posted October 6, 2007 While there certainly will be some open restaurants and cafes, I would not expect many shops to be open on this high holiday, just some souvenier shops maybe. Yet this is my experience only from other holidays. Nevertheless it does not need to be a boring day. The beautiful cities like Pisa, Lucca or Florence are still there and easily reachable by train.
