Looking to enjooy some local food at a non dressy restuarant. We're notlooking for anything special or fancy, just a local place serving local foods at a reasonable price. Does anyone know if there are any restuarants close where the ships docks or tends in? Has anybody heard of Paradise restuarant? Would like to just tender in and walk to get a small light bite to eat. Not looking for anything too far as there are several in my group that are unable to walk any distances at all.

Here's a website that gives you info on a lot of restaurants in GC. Not all are listed, but the Paradise is listed. Breezes is located in the Landmark building, and it's also right in the port area. The Hard Rock Cafe is also there. All the restaurants we've been to are very casual, and even the fancier onces we visited for dinner were still very casual.

The menus are listed in CD, and they also will most likely add on the tip (to your bill). Make sure and check this before adding a tip. The first time we were on the island, we double-tipped the first time. We now visit Grand Cayman on land vacations and for the most part, we use only credit cards, and we've had no funky fees or issues. If you use cash, and they have no problem taking USD, you r change will most likely be in CD. A couple of times we asked if they had USD for change, and many places did do this for us. We always ask our server to write on our bill what the bill would be in USD adn they are happy to do this for you.

Have a great time in GC. It's a wonderful place...and very safe. Feel free to wander around and not worry about a thing. Just use the same precautions you'd use at home.

Paradise is right off the cruise dock to the right. You can see all the ships right from the restaurant and is a short walk. They have an indoor and out door section. Its right on the water. You can also rent snorkel gear and snorkel right there if you wish. We have eaten there each time we have visited Grand Cayman

.......from the dock, you can't miss it.

If you come ashore at South Terminal/Hog Sty Bay it's five minutes walk. From the Royal Watler Terminal maybe double that. Just past the craft market and right on the shore. Possibly the best view of the harbour area you can find.
