I did my first slot tournament on the Miracle last week. Oh yeah, that's where another $20 went on my s&s account! lol

You paide $20 & got this card in return (that kind of looks like your S&S card), then you take it over to where the 'reserved' slots are (they had 12 slots set aside). Wait online behind the machine you want to play on (I didn't find this out at first then wondered why I didn't have a machine to play on). When there is a vacant machine you sit down & wait, everyone will start at the same time. Casino host comes around taking the cards & setting your machine to a certain number of credits. It is also set to know how many lines/credits to bet. Then when he says "GO" you just hit the 'spin' button like crazy! lol That really is all there is to it. It keeps a record of how many extra 'credits' you have won, but doesn't add them onto your credits you have to bet. So once you have used up all your credits for betting the host goes around writing down the 'extra credits' you have won.

If you score a certain amount or higher you get to come back later for the slot tournament final. I think when I played you had to get 3850 to make it onto the leader board (12 people who go through to the final), I got something like a pitiful 850. :( But it was fun to have said I participated that once.

Would I do it again, probably not, but it was fun. :)

Good luck!

My DW and I enjoy playing the slot tournament, one time we had played it on the 2nd to last round and my score was good enough for last place in the finals. they anounced one more round and I was hoping no one would un seat me. Just then DW told me she was going to play in the last round and I tried to explain the best she could do was unseat me!! I convinced her not to play and to this day I am not sure she understands why. I ended up losing in the final round. Looking back I schould have kept my mouth shut.

I played in one on the Pride in Jan...didn't win but was fun. I was in the first round and thought I was going to win because I had what I thought was the HOTTEST slot machine I've ever played on! It just kept hitting and hitting and hitting, my husband, who was standing behind me, couldn't believe the good luck, either. I was wishing I wasn't in a $20 tournament, but playing for real!!! Then we sorta started looking around to see how the other players were doing and lo and behold...they were having the same LUCKY STREAK I was!!! Well, suffice it to say, I didn't win, but I've never played a hotter machine! Do you think, (they must!) have a way of cranking those machines up to hit more? Believe me, the rest of the machines in the casino don't hit even close to that often. Sure wish they would, might help this new addiction I've developed to cruising!! LOL! Chud

My DH and I went on the Celebration back in 1999 and played in a slot tournament. I made it to the finals but my DH missed it by one person. He was so disappointed. To our surprise, one person did not show up for the final round, so my DH was next on the list and got to play anyway. They covered the electronic score on the machines with tape, so no one knew their scores until they were revealed at the end. I ended up with the highest score and my DH got the 2nd highest score, so I got $250 in cash, one of Carnival's famous ship trophies, a bottle of champagne and a really neat Carnival Millenium t-shirt! DH got $200 in cash. It was a real hoot!! :)

Mfinn, good for you!!!!

Leadnur, they will post signs in the casino, you can't miss them.

All, but do they crank these tournament machines up to win more often? If not, I'm going to be the first in line to play them for real when the tournaments over!!! Chud

We were on the Destiny less than 2 weeks ago and they had 2 tournaments that week.My wife made it to both finals. The 1st prize was $500 and 3000 points on your slot card(players club).2nd was just 2000 points.3rd was 1000 points and the last 7 all got 500 points (everyone got a tshirt).Ath the end of the cruise all player with 1500 or more points got an extra gift (she got me a polo shirt) and will get a 1% cash back bonus on their next cruise from the casino host on the next ship you are sailing on.

I'm happy to see they have slot tournaments. I was in a few when traveling to Vegas a couple of years ago (at the Aladdin), and usually enter one a year here at our local Harrah's.

There's nothing like spinning and WINNING credits every time (even if you don't get to keep it :()

Thanks! Yes, they put the machines in a tournament mode so you will hill the 7's more frequently. Sorry! :(

My family and I were on the Destiny the week of 7/18. For some reason we were all extremely lucky that week and my brother ended up winning the 1st slot tournament and then my aunt won the second one. It was hysterical casue for 1 my brother isn't even 21 yet so he can't legally gamble in the states, but everyone was rooting him on. He won $500 and t shirt, a mug, and gets $30 towards his next cruise.

Played my first slot tournement on the Legend, got to the finals but I didn't win. Did get a t shirt. Played again on the Pride last February and won first place! How exciting! I won $500, mug, tshirt , some other small gifts and $50 on my Ocean Players account. I'll be on the Sensation in April and the Liberty in August. I hope to play again.

Cruised on the NCL Dawn 12/19/04. Entered a slot tournament and made it to the finals. Originally was going to pick machine #7 but the lady before me picked it, so I picked #10. I held the lead throughout the tournament with 5000+, then you won't believe in the last second of the tournament machine #7 jumped in the lead with 7000+ points, I almost died. Recieved a t-shirt and a bottle of wine instead of the $500. Left the wine in the cabin for the next guest, it was not the type I liked. Had fun anyway. Cruised on Carnival Destiny one time and won $500 on a nickle macine.

I really wanna do the slots tournie this time... I saw it last time and it looked like sooo much funn....

We really aren't gamblers, my idea of gambling is the nickle slots... but its funny, I've always won pretty good for nickles.. lol... one my very first cruise which was on Fascination... I had $20 to spend on slots... when I had spent about $10 I won $250 on nickle slots... when we were in the casino at the Ritz in Puerto Rico I won $100 after only playing about $3... and then on that same vacation on the Destiny I won about $200 after spending about $15.... I always have good luck on the nickle slots...

$200 is a great jackpot for playing nickles. My wife likes to play nickles or keno in Vegas, just for the free drinks.:)
