herewego Posted October 13, 2007 #1 Share Posted October 13, 2007 I was hoping someone would have sailed on the Mercury and can give me a bit of info on these rooms. Is the vernanda too small to eat on and how tight are the quarters? Thanks
croozinsnoozin79 Posted October 13, 2007 #2 Share Posted October 13, 2007 Just off yesterday and had Cabin 1132...... Verandah is about 5'x8' or so with 2 chairs and a decent size table. Plenty of room to eat out there but you actually have to close the door to get to the 1 chair behind it. There is also a foot rest type thing out there too that the three of us used for an extra seat. The cabin was a bit small for three people, would be much better for only two. With the sofa bed opened you have to crawl over it to get out onto the balcony, we just folded it back in halfway to reach the door after turndown. We all felt it was better suited for two. anyname Posted October 13, 2007 #3 Share Posted October 13, 2007 We have one of these outside this deck as well. Are they all CC? Did you eat outside and was it freezing? We will have 3 as well but the tight area won't matter as much as getting to go! How protected is it? Samantha
croozinsnoozin79 Posted October 13, 2007 #4 Share Posted October 13, 2007 My CC cabin was located under the Pizza & Pasta area and had a large overhang (kind of a bumpout) over the balcony. These same "bumpouts" are over the buffet seating areas also so some of the CC cabins will have a larger balcony ceiling than the others not located under them. We had no noise and would book this area again in an instant!! Some of the cabins on this deck are Sky Suites too so not all are CC cabins. The weather last week was not so cold you couldn't enjoy the balcony as we spent time out there with coffee and snacks but did not eat out there but it could be done. Even with the drizzly weather we had in Nanaimo, we were still well protected.
anyname Posted October 17, 2007 #5 Share Posted October 17, 2007 How can I tell if my cabin is covered n the top or has a hangover? Can you see the people on the other side? I am in 1116 if that makes a difference.
