clopaw Posted August 31, 2004 #2 Share Posted August 31, 2004 Strangely enough, it's the future cruise consultant! :D
getaway101 Posted August 31, 2004 #3 Share Posted August 31, 2004 Is this something worth doing? Have never done it before. What are the benefits?
Pacificlander Posted August 31, 2004 Author #4 Share Posted August 31, 2004 Well I was close, I was thinking future cruise specialist. Thanks. Does anybody know the name of the future cruise consultant on the Mercury?
Pacificlander Posted August 31, 2004 Author #5 Share Posted August 31, 2004 From what I understand, depending on what accommodations you book and the length of the cruise, you can receive $100-200 of shipboard credit.
Seabee Posted August 31, 2004 #6 Share Posted August 31, 2004 Getaway...always book another when on board...period. No reason not to. Don't worry about the fare. You get an on board credit of $100-200 depending on length of cruise. You can transfer the booking to your TA who will apply any savings he/she may be able to get. You can change itineraries and still retain credit. And you can always cancel if you must. The only drawback is that the deposit is charged to your Credit Card immediately, just like always. I love looking at my statement on the dhe interactive TV and seeing that credit show up.
jcallcut Posted August 31, 2004 #7 Share Posted August 31, 2004 I love looking at my statement on the dhe interactive TV and seeing that credit show up. I guess I was confused. Do you get the credit on your current cruise or the future one you booked. Also, if it is on the current one, what happens if you cancel the cruise? Thanks, Jim
Dean Wendland Posted August 31, 2004 #8 Share Posted August 31, 2004 You get the credit on the cruise that you book. It appears around the 3 or 4th day of the cruise. At just the time that you need a little extra.
getaway101 Posted September 1, 2004 #9 Share Posted September 1, 2004 Seabee - Thanks for the info and it sounds like a done deal for me.
CruznTom Posted September 2, 2004 #10 Share Posted September 2, 2004 It really helps if you pick up the pertinent borchures and do some "homework" in a lounge or poolside ahead of time, as there often are many people waiting for the consultant, and you don't want to be hurried in your decision. I am currently in a discussion with Celebrity about advantages of booking onboard when a coupon has now been sent to Captains Club members who book the same cruise and get $150 discount on the cruise price if they book during the current window. Celeb has evinently changed their policy on honoring these coupons.
