Isla Margarita-La Restinga info

Visiting end of December and staying 8am to 6pm . Is it easy to get to the park by taxi please and then back to the port? My intention would be to visit the park am and then rest at the local beach (or possibly another beach) pm. Does thsi seem feasible?

We took the ship's excursion to La Restinga - on a bus. It was a fairly long ride and we had a good guide, which made a difference. The boat drivers at the Lagoon speak only Spanish, so we were glad our guide had arranged the excursion.
