awesomemamma Posted October 19, 2007 #1 Share Posted October 19, 2007 There are seven people in my family sailing. (DH and I, and 5 kids) I only have one CC, and I intentionally have a low amount available on it. (I credit cards!) I know that Carnival typically puts a $200 per person hold on the card. That's $1400!! What do they do if you are ON the ship, and do not have that amount available? Kick you off? Make you put it down in cash? Adjust the kids hold? What? Thanks! gail811 Posted October 19, 2007 #2 Share Posted October 19, 2007 You could put some cash down in addition to using the card, or just use cash. You can also purchase Funship dollars in advance to use against your account. What are Carnival "Funship" Dollars? Carnival now offers gift certificates that friends, family travel agents or businesses can purchase for a Carnival Guest. Funship Dollars come in denominations of: $25 - $50 - $100 - $200 - $500. Funship Dollars can be redeemed against the cost of a cruise (as payment). Funship Dollars can be applied as an on board credit on the Guest's Sail and Sign account. Order Procedures Certificates are purchased by calling the Reservations Special Programs and Promotions Desk at: 800 906-7603. The certificates are customized with the name of the person, agency or business that purchased it. The purchaser will fill in the name of the recipient. The certificate will be mailed to the purchaser upon receipt of payment. *Certificates are valid for 24 months from date of purchase unless otherwise noted. dlbutler5 Posted October 19, 2007 #3 Share Posted October 19, 2007 I think you would have to put down a cash deposit. You could also not have any buying power for your kids S&S, just a room key.
