FinallyConvincedDH2Cruise Posted October 23, 2007 #1 Share Posted October 23, 2007 My Mom said that RCI in the past has run sales on 3rd person bookings (I think she said $99). Does RCI still do this? I am looking for a last minute deal but DD's fare is killing me! I found 4 nights on the Nav for $299 for an oceanview, but DD is $249! What drives me nuts is she is only 2, can't do aquanauts and eats nothing! Norwegian she is only $100 but I want to do RCI.
Maxiecat3 Posted October 23, 2007 #2 Share Posted October 23, 2007 The cruise line does run specials once in awhile. If the ship is having a hard time selling they might run the promotion to try to sail full. In regards to having to pay $249 for a 2 yr old who you say will not eat, it might help you to understand why they do this. In your case it doesn't sound like the cruise is full, but in the case that the cruise has reached it's lifeboat capacity they could not accept anymore passengers. From the cruise lines perspective, your 2 yr old could be taking the place of another adult who will more than likely would spend money on drinks, excursions, casino, bingo, photos etc. The money they could make off that passenger would probably be more than the money they save on food for an infant. Keep looking daily for promotions for that 3rd pasenger rate. Gregg
Jsme Posted October 23, 2007 #3 Share Posted October 23, 2007 Yes I have seen 3 and 4 person specials. Sometimes they are excellent prices. Like $99 or less to book them. If you are using a TA call and ask if they know of any of these deals if not call the cruise line and ask a specialist.
shirleygr Posted October 23, 2007 #4 Share Posted October 23, 2007 I recently saw a 3rd/4th special on several Serenade of the Seas sailings in Alaska next year. I think it was $109 pp. So yes, they do run these specials. Hope you find something to meet your needs. Good luck!
