42trvl Posted June 11, 2004 #2 Share Posted June 11, 2004 I don't know about a combined indpendent tour if not booked through the cruise line. But I know that if you do Capt. Larry's (Orca Enterprises) whale watching tour they will drop you at Mendenhall galcier and you can buy a $5 ticket for a bus back to town when you're ready to return. I think they run every half hour or so.
jezzdogg Posted June 11, 2004 #3 Share Posted June 11, 2004 Captain Larry from Orca enterprised was fantastic, we did the whale watching with him, one of the highlights of our cruise. Got to see a whole pod of whales bubble feeding. For Mendenhall you really can do it on your own, only thing ships tour does is bring you there and pick-up. norm
