Dropping luggage off at Ft. Lauderdale pier

At Port Everglades, is it possible to drop your luggage off with the porters and then take your rental car back to it's location and hop on a shuttle or taxi. We did this in Long Beach and it was so much easier than trying to lug all those bags on the shuttle. Any help would be appreciated.

Last April we dropped off our bags and then drove off to the parking garage, but for all anyone knew we could have left and gone to a car rental return, so I can't see it being a problem.

You drop them off with the porters at your cruise terminal. The porters check your tags and your cruise documents. Your bags go on a rack to be loaded onto the ship and you go wherever you want to go. You can go into the terminal immediately after dropping your bags or you can just leave the port and return later.
