coconut snack

Yes, but how is it made? marinated? Would love to try it myself at home.:)

 

It looked like they just opened a coconut and cut it into several pieces, squeezed fresh lime right on it and then a few drops of hot sauce (not salsa) sprinkled all over it. I have tried several times but still not the same. Never did let the lime sit for any length of time, maybe that is the trick. Oh and of course the brand of hot sauce they use could be it too.. Oh no now I think I have it, I didn't have that ice cold cerveza, the ocean backdrop sitting under the palapa =) with it either here at home

We use Valentina brand salsa or salsa polvo...like a coarse chili powder.

THANK YOU and your son. I have craved that wonderful treat for 4 years now as I can't seem to make it as good as they did in Ixtapa..

 

Do you remember the name of the place in Ixtapa where you ordered this drink?

Is it a 'local favorite' or do they have it in other ports as well?

We're going to be there in about 30 days!!! and we Want Coco Loco!! :D

frequent floater, in Ixtapa you went to carlos and charlies! the place where you had the coco locos was that beach in Manzanilla...didn't someone have a taxi accident on the way back?
