Ragweed in the Mediterranean?

Are there any experienced travellers who would know if ragweed is a problem in Europe? We are leaving for a cruise next week and my husband suffers from allergies at this time of the year.

I don't know for sure...but I don't think they have ragweed in Europe.

I've never heard of ragweed, so don't think it can be a problem

Hi beechfor, I suffer from allergies at this time as well. In fact, I'm allergic to many things outside. While we were in the Med last month on our cruise, my allergies did not act up at all. Didn't even have to pop any pills throughout the entire trip. Actually, right when our plane landed back home (Toronto) after vacation my allergies hit me like a ton of bricks. Been popping allergy pills ever since. :(

I live in So Cal and suffer from hayfever. I had heard that the weather and landscape in the Med very similar to here, which it is, so I had my Claritin with me, but while we were there July/Aug I had no allergy symptoms at all.
