With the danger of bad weather associated with hurricanes, tropical storms, and their remnants throughout the cruising map, perhaps the cruise line can devise an item which all passengers can rent when going ashore -- those members of the crew who go ashore must have them as well. Should the Captain wish to leave port early and signal passengers (and crew) to return to the ship, shore excursions or just wandering around port may cease early and the ship can leave with her full complement of passengers and crew. If there are passengers who want to take a chance and not rent this device, and if they are left behind, the cruise line can claim no responsibility when the welfare of the ship and her passengers (not ot mention the crew) is at stake. rolleyes:
