Sox Fan Cruiser Posted November 6, 2007 #1 Share Posted November 6, 2007 Hubby and I booked the Mexican Reviera cruise out of LA on 2/16/08 and was wondering if any family will be joining us. We know the deputy cruise director so I am sure we could get an LGBT meeting or two arranged. :D
bhopal21 Posted November 7, 2007 #2 Share Posted November 7, 2007 We are onboard the week before. Do you mind me asking who is the deputy cruise director? Have a great cruise. Mike:)
Sox Fan Cruiser Posted November 7, 2007 Author #3 Share Posted November 7, 2007 His name is Brett Sibourne. He was the very first person we met on our very first Princess cruise (Mexican Reviera as well) and we have been friends ever since. He just wrapped up a contract on the Crown doing the New Enlgand/Canada trip.

EagleRockers Posted December 5, 2007 #5 Share Posted December 5, 2007 Hey guys, it's Martin from the Princess boards. David and I will be on board, but you already know that. Looking forward to meeting you two.

EagleRockers Posted December 15, 2007 #7 Share Posted December 15, 2007 The info packets from Princess arrived this week - one step closer to the cruise! Have your friends booked yet? Happy Holidays, Martin & David
Sox Fan Cruiser Posted December 17, 2007 Author #8 Share Posted December 17, 2007 They haven't. They actually know the ex-president of Princess and is getting tips from him. I told them that they can ask us. We're the Princess experts!! I told them to wait until final payment past as some times the prices drop. But they haven't so far. They will probably book soon. Sox Fan Cruiser Posted December 26, 2007 Author #9 Share Posted December 26, 2007 Our friends aren't going any more. One of the guys had to switch vacation weeks with his ex-wife. We're bummed. But not so much that we aren't going to enjoy the cruise!!! :D
EagleRockers Posted December 26, 2007 #10 Share Posted December 26, 2007 Too bad about your friends not being able to cruise with you, but look on the bright side - less than 2 months to go!

yaletown605 Posted January 30, 2008 #12 Share Posted January 30, 2008 Here we are. Only two more weeks to go. We are from Vancouver and it just snowed here.
Sox Fan Cruiser Posted January 31, 2008 Author #13 Share Posted January 31, 2008 We just reserved our tuxes through the ship so I can cross that off the list. We'll need to start packing soon but I've got this thing called the Super Bowl to live through first. :D Did either of you book any excursions? We have a meet and greet with the other roll call board after sail away although I am confused about where it is. Swing by. Or we can have our own some other time. My friend is the deputy cruise director so I'm sure we'll have some LGBT meetings on board.
yaletown605 Posted January 31, 2008 #14 Share Posted January 31, 2008 Good day, Paul and I are planning to do canopy ziplining in PV. But we are booking it independently. I am never a fan of cruise excursion. Looking forward to the cruise in two weeks. David
EagleRockers Posted February 1, 2008 #15 Share Posted February 1, 2008 We're doing a ship excursion in P.V. It's the "go to a resort, hang out at the pool, buffet lunch" day. We've been to P.V. multiple times, so we thought we'd try something different. Other than that, no excursions planned. Counting the days! - Martin & David
aunstateboy Posted February 3, 2008 #16 Share Posted February 3, 2008 My partner and I just got back from the Golden Princess this morning. Our ship had an official GLBT gathering on three of the seven nights. Princess even sponsors the champagne :) There was a decent sized turn out each night too. You'll find the meetings posted in your daily bulletin. Our meetings were held at the Outrigger Bar on the back deck of the boat (Floor 7, if I remember). Have a great time!!... we did. EagleRockers Posted February 4, 2008 #17 Share Posted February 4, 2008 We'll need to start packing soon but I've got this thing called the Super Bowl to live through first. :D Our sympathies are with you. At least you have a cruise to look forward to! It's sunny, 61 degrees in L.A. today. The farther south you go the hotter it gets! Viva Mexico! Sox Fan Cruiser Posted February 5, 2008 Author #19 Share Posted February 5, 2008 Hey guys, I posted this on the other roll call board: Hello everyone. We wanted to let you all know that Derrick and I will not be going on this cruise after all. We have been putting this off for a while trying to see if we could swing it. And it's not because I owe everyone beers for that lousy Super Bowl on Sunday!! ;) Our dog was diagnosed with a tumor in his brain over the last few weeks. We kept waiting to get as much information as we could to figure out if we could still take the cruise. We weren't sure how much time we had with him and what treatments he would need. Well, we just found out that what was thought of as inoperable is now a good candidate for surgery. So we aren't wasting any time and he's going in on Monday. He is going to need us for the next few weeks so we are staying home. I know you all will have a great time and please say hello to Brett, the deputy cruise director, for us. He's a good friend of ours. Take care!

yaletown605 Posted February 10, 2008 #23 Share Posted February 10, 2008 Yes one more week to go. Here in Vancouver, it has gotten unseasonably cold. Snow last few days and hovering around 0 it is time to go somewhere warm. brrrrrr. David (and Paul)
Sox Fan Cruiser Posted February 10, 2008 Author #24 Share Posted February 10, 2008 We're baaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaack. Unfortunately the doctor has ruled out surgery for our dog as his tumor is too extensive. We have about 4 months with him. So we really need this trip before the hell begins. So we'll see you guys on the ship!!
