smurfette101 Posted November 7, 2007 #1 Share Posted November 7, 2007 I was wondering if the snorkelling is any good at half moon cay? I'm debating on bringing my snorkel gear.

rotomu Posted November 8, 2007 #3 Share Posted November 8, 2007 If you use the search feature you will find many threads regarding snorkeling on HMC. There is really only one area worth snorkeling which is by where the ferry runs. The rest of the beach is sandy and has no fish holding cover. The snorkel excursion to the back side of the island is very nice. Nice small, healthy reefs, loads of fish. We took our own mask, snorkel and used their fins and vest. waynebrian Posted November 13, 2007 #4 Share Posted November 13, 2007 we were with someone who does a lot of snorkeling and she said the ship's excursion was worth every penny. i had never done it and rented the gear and saw several fish along the beach but apparently the tour takes you to another part of the island - not too far i think. she really raved about it and from an experience snorkeler i'd take that as an endorsement.
