irky416 Posted November 7, 2007 #1 Share Posted November 7, 2007 I went on a Carnival Cruise a year and a half ago and was assigned a PVP. I mostly ignored the many emails from him for the past year and a half because we had other vacation plans. However, we are looking at cruises again for the summer. I emailed my PVP about past guest discounts on Saturday and he has yet to send me a personal reply back. Do PVPs contact you via email or must you call someone? I hate talking on the phone because I talk all day at work and would much prefer contact via email. Is this unusual that he has not replied with an answer or do I really need to call him? Last time we booked through a TA who is no longer in business and I was hoping a PVP would be easier.

shargurl Posted November 7, 2007 #3 Share Posted November 7, 2007 Make the initial phone call and the express that you would like to correspond through email going forward. Worked out perfectly with mune
gumballz Posted November 7, 2007 #4 Share Posted November 7, 2007 Mine calls me back within an hour, unless she's gone for the day or it's her day off. It's the same with emails......usually within minutes, but otherwise she emails me back within an hour. Do what shargurl suggested and just give him a call and let him know what you're interested in.......and that you'd prefer to correspond via email unless it's imperative to talk on the phone. If he's not willing to do that, call and get a different PVP.
irky416 Posted November 7, 2007 Author #5 Share Posted November 7, 2007 Thanks for the advice! I thought it strange that I hadn't heard back yet. I will give him a call tomorrow.
7SEASSISTER Posted November 7, 2007 #6 Share Posted November 7, 2007 yes definitely call them, they also have filters on their email so if you've never sent one maybe he didn't get it. mine always calls me back same day and emails within minutes also, and calls with additional discounts for my cruises if the rates goes down. I feel like i'm looked out for...that is the way it should be. sooonersunshine@roadrunner.com
LHP Posted November 7, 2007 #7 Share Posted November 7, 2007 I would make the call...because he may no longer be there...and there is no way of knowing that with emails....
cookc61462 Posted November 7, 2007 #8 Share Posted November 7, 2007 Mine called and emailed me both the same day! :D I LOVE my PVP. I'd say give him another call too. Good luck. Cathy
