costa vs msc

I have posted a similar question on the msc board. My husband and I are planning on taking a medeterrainian cruise in October 2008. The itinerary is Venice, Bari, Katakolon, Izmir, Istanbul, Dubrovnik, Venice. We have been going over many reviews and still cannot decide between the two. We are first time cruisers and Canadian citizens. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. The ships that we are deciding between are Costa Serena and MSC Poesia. Both are fairly new.

have sailed on both ,but not to europe.. msc is a little more laid back and i think a little more authentic italian than costa.( you can see carnivals influence on costa. Both are great though and are my 2 favorite lines to sail on. wish they home ported a ship in the U.S. year round. i would sail on them more. shows on msc are fantastic and more european than costa.

costa's casinos much better than msc's...outdoor space, pools and buffets about the same..both have great spas..i don't think you can go wrong with either so pic the itinerary that gives you the most time in ports and go have a ball...Caio:cool:
