Bullswood Posted November 9, 2007 #1 Share Posted November 9, 2007 Does anyone have experience of this tour ex Puerto Madryn? I read that there are a lot of steps involved and was wondering whether it might be too arduous for my elderly parents in law... Alternative is P. Tombo penguin tour...both seem to involve a lot of driving! Thanks
threeperros Posted November 15, 2007 #2 Share Posted November 15, 2007 HI. It is alot of driving/riding, over gravel roads and they drive fast. The roads are very flat though. we were able to do everything in valdez and see the penguins--all in one day--had lunch at a good place on a cliff above the ocean. to see the sea lion area with the pups required a short walk down steps and a small hill. other than that, everything was right where we parked. If the parents are the least bit hearty, they will be fine. We found a driver at the port who spoke English and shared the day with another couple. Seems like I remember we only paid $120 AR per person--which was about $40 per person--but that was 3 years ago. Tourist areas now charge US dollar prices as opposed to Argentine peso prices.
