We have heard that the Fantasy does a uturn when leaving port in NOL. What side do we need to be on for the best sights on the Mississippi? IS it good on both sides? Muster makes it tough not to misss the beginning--we are in Cat 11 room V18--Is this on the best side for the cruise down the Mighty Miss?

If you have never done it, it is kinda cool to get up top and watch her do the u-turn. As far as the rest of the 6 - 8 hour trip down the ole Mississippi...both sides are equally interesting. (and really pretty at night with all the twinkly lights of the small river towns)

Personally, I would love to go all the way to the mouth of this Miss River in total daylight....but since the ship leaves at 4pm....it gets dark shortly afterward...especially this time of year.

Since you're on the Verandah deck, it's easy for you to go to the "secret" deck at the front of the ship. Go down the hall where the rooms are, but keep going till you come to a door at the front of the ship. Go through that door, and I believe there's a 2nd door, and you will be on a deck. It is perfectly all right to go to this deck. There will be others there for sailaway. Other than that, your balcony will be just fine. We were in V19, opposite side from you, but we had a nice view.
