We will be on the Explorer of the Seas in December and I was wondering about the casino? Can you use cash or do you have use your card? I called RCCL and was told that no cash exchanges hands on any of the ship? I thought when we cruised 2 years ago that we could use cash at the slots? I also would like to know if you can get gift certificates or purchase on board credit for the casino?

Yes you can use cash in the slots! No problem!!

The casino always accepts your cash donations, although you can use your Seapass card if you wish. Some ships have an ATM in the casino as well.:)

Of Course you can use cash....I wonder what the RCCL was thinking by telling you no....

Anyway, you can also get cash advance on your seapass card, and USE your seapass card at the slots to redeem souveniers and free drinks too.

Not sure about gift certif's, might want to call them back on that one and ask to speak to someone who knows what they're talking about :rolleyes:

You need to use cash in the casino. You can't use your SeaPass card other than to get cash advances or to get points towards drinks etc. from the casino. The slot machines don't take your SeaPass card as payment.

 

The tables need cash too, so the person telling you no cash was definitely wrong. Good luck.
