The NCL Jewel is NOT the "Mustard of the Seas".

Royal Caribbean's Jewel of the Seas was the site of the first "Mustard of the Seas" cruise.

The Mustard of the Seas is a virtual cruise ship, created here on Cruise Critic, on the "Ten Reasons to stop cruising with RCCL" thread. It's in the Floataway lounge, and currently has over 40,000 posts. Some of the fun involves common malapropisms found on the boards here, for example:

* At Mustard Drill on the MOS, we serve hot dogs and pretzels to go along with the mustard.

* All cabin attendants (room stewards) are named Stewart.

* Our captain is Captain Speaking (who we have heard at noon on *every* RCCL ship: "This is Captain Speaking, we are currently....")

The crew had so much fun together online that they planned a real cruise; after polling, a time and ship and date were chosen, and those who were able cruised together on the Jewel of the Seas in February 2007. We had such a good time on that cruise that planning for MOS II is underway; it will occur in second quarter 2009 on a RCCL ship and itinerary yet to be determined.

Come on aboard! It's best to start at the beginning (even though there are a lot of posts), and if you insist on eating or drinking while reading, be sure to have plenty of paper towels and Windex at hand.

The only thing you didn't put in this time was "tongue in cheek". Great explanation. Good afternoon Captain.

Lunch is being served on the MOS.
